Friends In Transient Places – jonathan caren

After three years, I’ve finally completed my play Friends in Transient Places.  What began as an exercise in theatricality has become a series of interwoven tales that take place on an airplane journey from one terminal to another.

I’m sure I’m not the first person to think I was going to die in the sky.  You can’t go up there without thinking about it.  And one of the first thoughts that come to my mind is always, “I’m going to die alone.” But there’s a whole cabin filled with strangers.  Sometimes I don’t want to make friends.  Other times it seems fated that whoever I’m sitting next to is exactly the person I need to be sitting with… No matter what they have to say.  And in my airplane play, there’s a kick ass live band on board too!
